Adventureworks is back after reopening in May 2024, and they are kicking off their 2025 season with a couples zipline tour and reopening the obstacle course. Dates are Feb. 14 and 15 starting at 10 a.m. Are you a home gardener who wants to give back to your community? The ARK needs you to plant an extra row of vegetables and donate them to the ARK Community Resource Center Food pantry’s outdoor veggie stand. Need seeds? Come by The ARK and get seed packets. Friday, Feb. 14 and Saturday, Feb. 15, enjoy heart-shaped pizzas, special limited-time desserts and a cocktail menu you don’t want to miss. Pegram Elementary Fine Arts Magnet School is looking for volunteers to read to students during Read Across America Week March 3-7. Local husband and wife duo, Carlie and Clint Finch, are hosting the second annual South Cheatham couples trip to a Sandals Resort – this time in South Coast Jamaica. Join nine other couples Oct. 6-11. Email info@2travelanywhere.com for more information. Turnbull Provisions has introduced its latest coffee flavors in time for Valentine’s Day. The handful of new flavors include seasonal favorites like lavender honey and raspberry mocha. The shop is open Tuesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Town of Kingston Springs is now accepting bids for an enclosed metal building, a solar powered park gate and fencing for wastewater pump stations. Food truck favorite, Haute Wheels, has announced a new venture, Wyldeflour, which will be hosting its first pop-up event at SKYKING PIZZA on Sunday, Feb. 16 from 5-9:30 p.m. Reservations for the Italian-American concept are strongly encouraged. More information can be found here. Special Olympics Unified Teams traveled to Gatlinburg to compete in the Winter Olympics for basketball, snowboarding, skiing and speed skating. Turnbull Provisions launched a book club this month. The first meeting will feature a discussion on Matt Haig’s “Midnight Library” on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 3 p.m. The Director of Schools’ Student Advisory Council filled more than 50 “blessing bags” on Feb. 6 during their visit to the Board of Education office. The bags will be distributed to nonprofits across Cheatham County, including The ARK. The Cheatham County School District recognized new educators with the Green Apple Award on Feb. 4. Those recognized with the Green Apple Award are in their first to third year of teaching, have done outstanding work with their students and have been a vital part of their school culture.
