The Ark kicks off annual Angel Tree donations

The Ark has 139 Kingston Springs and Pegram children participating in its annual Angel Tree program this year, for ages three through 8th grade.

When an angel is adopted, the shopper will purchase an outfit, a pair of shoes, a coat if the tag shows they want one, and gifts that the child is interested in. All of this information is on the angel tag the shopper receives.

Angels are available for adoption throughout South Cheatham at Noah's Closet; United Community Bank in Pegram; Pencils in Kingston Springs; Riversprings Dental in Kingston Springs; and the Kingston Springs Pharmacy.

School aged children qualify to become an Angel with The Ark if they are part of the free and reduced lunch program.

The Ark has set a Dec. 5 deadline for the angel's gifts to be delivered to Noah’s Closet at 710 Highway 70 in a black trash bag.

“This keeps the kids from being able to see what they will be getting if they are with parents at the pickup day,” said Jenny White, The Ark’s Angel Tree Program coordinator. “We go through each bag to double check and make sure each child has the proper size clothing and shoes and that they have at least a few of their wish list items.”

The Ark said that it has partnered with Nashville Christian School for several years to provide each child a stocking with stocking stuffer items.
