PEFAMS works to implement new daycare program

Pegram Elementary Fine Arts Magnet School is now offering before-school and after-school daycare programs for the 2023-2024 school year, a project years in the making to bring the program back into operation.

Alexandria Betts – who has five years with the daycare program under her

belt – will serve as the Pegram site director, the school district said in a recent press release.

This decision comes five years after Pegram Elementary’s transition into a

fine arts magnet school in an attempt to draw more students and heighten academic

achievements.

Pegram daycare will be open Monday-Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. unless the school is

closed for a full day (such as seasonal breaks and snow days), then the Pegram program will

combine with the KSES daycare.

You can reach the Pegram daycare beginning Aug. 7 at 615-952-3166. For additional information, you can contact Daycare Supervisor Laura Muncy at laura.muncy@ccstn.org.

Parents should note that students will no longer be transported to Kingston Springs Elementary School (KSES) when the 2023-2024 school year begins. Pegram students who are currently enrolled in the daycare program will remain at KSES through Friday, Aug. 4 and start at Pegram beginning Monday, Aug. 7.

Children already enrolled in the daycare program at KSES will be automatically enrolled in the program and require no extra steps. However, children on the waiting list from KSES will be enrolled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

If you would like to be added to the waiting list, you can call the KSES daycare at 615-952-5137.
