Investigation into Ranchettes fire ongoing, 1 deceased

An investigation is ongoing after one woman was found deceased in her home following a fire in the Ranchettes neighborhood of Kingston Springs.

The fire was reported around 2 a.m. on Friday, March 8 at 1094 Bald Eagle Drive.

The Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) are handling the investigation into the incident.

"At the request of the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office, TBI special agent fire investigators and an accelerant detection canine responded to a fire in the 1000 block of Bald Eagle Drive, Kingston Springs," TBI told the Gazette in a statement. "A female was found deceased. Her identity is being withheld, pending notification of relatives. The investigation remains active and ongoing."

No additional details have been released by officials about Friday morning’s incident.
