A new chapter is unfolding for Kingston Springs’ newest Main Street shop. Fred & Mary's – a sustainable homegoods store that became a collective of women-owned small businesses late last year – is rebranding and transitioning into a fresh new space under the name Jollifrogs.
Fred & Mary’s has been an important part of the community since it opened in the fall of 2023, welcoming a variety of local women entrepreneurs under one roof – including Jollifrogs mother-daughter duo Rachel Taslimi and Karen Kloess. Jollifrogs will continue this legacy, expanding the space and adding updates that will make it a “vibrant and fun shopping experience."

Jollifrogs co-owner Taslimi, who runs the shop with her mother, shared their excitement for what’s to come. “We love this town and love calling it home,” she said. “We’ve felt the enthusiasm from the community thus far and are really encouraged by that. We’re grateful to Carolyn for welcoming us into what she created and really excited to carry the torch with something the town can get behind and feel good about supporting.”
Carolyn Fredericks, the founder of Fred & Mary's in Kingston Springs, expressed her pride in what the shop has become and her excitement for the future. "Inviting other local women into the space to expand their entrepreneurial dreams alongside me has been so rewarding and inspiring. It has evolved into something greater than I saw coming, and I’m so grateful," she said. "As a working mom with two small kids and a partner who travels, running the collective in addition to my own small business turned out to be a bit more than I have the capacity for at the moment, so I am handing the reins over with tons of love and excitement for the future.”
Although she is stepping back from the day-to-day operation, Fredericks will continue to have a presence at the new Jollifrogs shop and plans to focus on the long-term brand expansion goals for Fred & Mary’s.
The transition to Jollifrogs brings an exciting new direction. With a fresh look and some thoughtful improvements underway – including new lighting, a revamped bathroom, and a more efficient layout – Jollifrogs aims to offer a wider variety of products. "It’s all about a happy, family-oriented vibe, but we’re hoping to bring in more natural or holistic options, especially for body care and snacks," Taslimi explained.
The rebranded space will also feature more extended hours, allowing Jollifrogs to better serve its customers. They plan to be open Tuesday through Saturday, with hopes to extend hours during the summer and holiday seasons to accommodate evening crowds.
The heart of Jollifrogs will still remain true to the spirit of Fred & Mary's – a collaborative, community-focused space with local vendors. “The ladies that have been involved with Fred & Mary’s are still going to continue to be involved,” Taslimi said. “It’s just a bit of restructuring and expanding. We’re excited about the future.”
The Jollifrogs team is aiming for a soft opening in mid-March, with a grand reopening event in April to celebrate the new space and all the improvements that have been made. Taslimi and her mom are enthusiastic about the opportunity to continue building on the sense of community that Fred & Mary’s helped establish.
“We’re excited to provide the same small neighborhood vibe with good energy. It’s going to be a fun, welcoming place for the community to enjoy,” Taslimi said.
For those who’ve been regular visitors to Fred & Mary’s, the transition to Jollifrogs promises to maintain that same sense of warmth, connection and creativity that Main Street in Kingston Springs is known for. Keep an eye on their social media for updates and the official reopening date next month.
