On the Monday night of June 12, the city of Kingston Springs gathered together downtown for some good ol’ small town fun.
Just across the tracks, at 4:30 p.m., six food trucks lined up to serve some delicious dinner and dessert.
Offering a wide range of food options, live music, and cornhole, there was something for everyone.
The people steadily started to line up at the order windows almost immediately.
Haute Wheels isn’t a stranger to Kingston Springs. Their burgers and fried pickles are delicious every time and keep the locals coming back.
Jac’s Southern Grub cooked up the southern classic, fried catfish served with your choice of country comforts: white beans, greens, or slaw. Tasted just like grandma’s house!
The Outdoor Boys exchanged their usual spot at the stoplight for downtown. Their burgers and hotdogs were popular with the kids and enjoyed by everyone.
Even a Nashville food truck came out: Elliston Place Soda Shop pulled into our small town with a “meat and three” option that made it hard to choose! With the longest line, they managed to impress the locals with their delicious meatloaf and quick turn around.
After a full plate and a couple games of cornhole, Everly’s has got desert covered for you. Their build-your-own ice cream sandwich is my favorite.
There was a huge turnout, but as the sun started to go down everyone headed home full and ready to hit the hay.
The Parks and Recreation department threw a very successful opening event with fun and food for everyone. Our community came together and made friends with strangers, supported small businesses, and had some summer fun.
The event will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. every other Monday through August, and may be extended into September if it’s successful.
Besides food, the event will feature live music.
“It’s the first time we've tried it,” said Parks Director Brandy Miniat, but she’s pleased with the response the city has received so far from food truck vendors.
Y'all make sure you come out Monday, June 26th for the next food truck night with new vendors and more fun!
